. the national weather center that give us as much warning as you can give anybody about the tornadoes wouldn't be operating. so that's a pretty contentious issue. we'll also had the national debt ceiling sometime probably in mid-november. that creates not a government shutdown scenario but if you don't find a way to resolve it, sort of a, across the board 35% cut in all government agencies because you couldn't finance government. and, finally, the immigration issue has been very contentious issue. the senate has passed a bill. it's not likely to be a bill that the house will pass. the house has passed for smaller goes through committee, through judiciary committee. they have not yet come to the house floor, considering a couple of others. i think there might be a big immigration discussion late in the year. i think it will come after this government shutdown and hit the ceiling are dealt with, if at all. because the two sides are a part. it's still certainly in the mix for this year. with that, i can drone on and on but i would rather cut it off and start inching your questions. yes, sir. if

been talking about flooding over the country. you may be like why are you showing us temperatures. it has a lot to do with why we have rain all over. temperatures in the 70s very unusual for the month of august. below average. meanwhile triple tig gets across parts of oklahoma the difference in air masses the moisture across sections of kansas and missouri a big area of high pressure over parts of texas and also louisiana helping produce the showers and storms as well. just in the past 48-hours in the past two-days areas have seen over a foot of rain over sections of missouri parts of arkansas the same across sections of oklahoma and kansas in a short amount of time. the last several days saturday into sunday you are expecting more rain out here locally over 6 inches of rain will be possible. flooding is a major concern. we want to update you. the national hurricane center updated the outlook through out the rest of the summer into snowfall. we are thinking it may be less or lower in terms of the extended outlook in terms of how many storms they are predicting. category 3 or above

it does not do to assist the u.s., has been helpful in some ways. he may talk about their cooperation after the boston marathon bombings or some of their assistance with respect to what's been going on in afghanistan, being able to get supply lines through and that sort of thing. but on some very key, very public issues, there's been a really chilly reaction to what the president has been saying and what vladimir putin's steps have been that assigning of asylum for as much as a year for edward snowden has put a real spotlight on the relationship. it's easier at the ministerial level for those conversations to go on today with secretaries it hagel and kerry. on the presidential level, when you sort of pit barack obama and vlad mifr putin t gets even more tense. i'm sure he'll be asked about that. and with respect to these nsa programs, there are foreign policy implications, of course. other countries are paying attention to what gets leaked. other countries are also engaged in their own forms of surveillance, but it does have an influence on foreign policy. >> kelly o'donnell at the wh

morning news" for friday, august 9th, 2013. good morning. thanks for joining us. i'm alexis christoforous. this morning firefighters in southern california are battling a huge wildfire that's spreading so fast they can't keep up with it. the so-called silver fire has already destroyed at least 26 homes. 500 others are threatened. the fire is burning through a mountain range 90 miles east of los angeles. six people have been injured. one fire official called it the most dangerous fire he's seen in half a century. evacuation orders have been issued for five towns. bigad shaban is near the fire line in snow creek. bigad, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, alexis. good to be with you. we're certainly beginning to feel the winds begin to pick up based on the weather conditions. investigators estimate at least 500 homes are in danger. it went to roughly 5,000 in about three hours. this morning the fire has spread to 14,000 acres. a wildfire in southern california's san jacinto mountain range lit up the sky last night as firefighters struggled to get it under control. >> this fire burning
